RASTAFARI SPEAKS DEFINITION OF SONGS IN MY CDS

1. DON'T BLEACH YOUR SKIN

When I observed and heard about the self _ destruction. Self hate and the great harm we are doing to our bodies in today’s society. I realized that denying our ancestry. There are those among us who do not so want to be associated with the dark skin of their ancestors who fought- or even died_ in the struggle for social justice and equality across the world. I have written a song to other them encouragement and assist them in overcoming false pride and teach them to be more productive and lean towards Godly concern. Regardless of what we do, our lives won’t be less successful because others think little of us and our children. As Peter Tosh said in one of his song:”No matter where you come from. As long as you are a black- you are an African” If we fail to believe that, our experience with others will remind us. Marcus Moziah Garvey also said:”God Almighty Knows what he was doing, why he made me black “So there is no need for us to continue practicing this kind of slavery. I believing in the doctrine of the Naggadayee which says that all man are created equal, so God in some sense must be black. We need to know that what we are eating today and not cleaning out our systems causes not to glow from the inside to the outside of our bodies. Most of us have a habit of eating and drinking many different dishes which take even the very oxygen from our bodies. Our pigmentation is very important. The sun provide us with vitamin D to protect us from illnesses .There are those who strive hard to look like us by laying in the sun all day for a tan. Some even become ill because their bodies cannot withstand the sun, it is sad to know that as long as there is a struggle. Fools will fall for folly. This, after our ancestors’ traveled through the door of no return into the Middle Passage of the Gorie Island into slavery! Today we have better opportunities than our forefathers. Haile Selassie I. said democracy can be good but can also be very harmful! Let us maintain our balance with God and nature and if possible we will gain our integrity. Number 12: 1: And Miriam and Aaron speak against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian women,

2. AFRICA MUST SING THE BLUES TOO

As much as we as Africans have progressed we are still way behind: Imagine we have organization like the League of Nations, the organization of African unity {OAU} And the United Nations {UN} which have done great work, but here we are in the 21st century and there is still homeless individuals and children adults around the world dying from hunger and disease. As black people {Africans} we hold fast to the through that we are poor and caused by God. While there are resources in Africa that can help to maintain us, it is shameful that we have no established country which will stand up and embrace our dignity. Ethiopia is said to be the center of the world where life had first started_ the beginning of civilization and the mother of churches, Ethiopia was the country where Africans would go to restore their respective country’s But in 1974, world stood by and watched the heart and soul of Africa – Ethiopia- the tradition of our ancestors’ brought down in a revolution in a very undignified manner. Three thousands three and fifty of documented tradition and the Solomonic dynasty and monarchy comes to an ultimate end! Haile Selassie I who the world claimed to love and respect as the representative father of Africa – since then. There have been increased crisis all over Africa and prostitution has become widespread. The nation has been exploited and there are more refugees who flee to other countries in exile. Revelation 7:3: saying. Hurt not the earth, neither nor the trees, till we have servants of our God in their foreheads.

3. OBAMA: WHY THEY CALL HIM RADICAL

I wrote this song for myself because see me as been strange and radical because I believe in social justice. When I see Barack Obama so sincerely about hope, it is encouraging. So when I Was in the studio and was about to mix the song, I decided to called his name at the beginning of the song. And also used some of his campaign statements. Which has already been recorded. Barack Obama! The world awaits him- he will be counted among the greatest orators of the 21 century. I have enough common sense to know that Barack Obama has the good judgment to lead this nation of many different races. Some people may say he is not white, while others may say he is not a “brother” but it is my impression that he has a lot going for him- even his strong African name! Let’s look beyond our individualism classism, favoritism and racism and see what Obama has to offer. I was born in Jamaica and I am a resident not a citizen of the united states of America – so I can’t vote, but I can see that Obama has created a very interesting campaign for every to take note of. Obama has a vision for the USA. For foreign relations and foreign policies, as children of the world, we demand better leadership. Let’s give a chance! Barack Obama reminds me Haile Selassie I. at the Geneva Convention and in California on February 28, 1968 addressing nations about humanity, I am not a politician, I just embrace Rasta anthology! Psalm 87: 4: I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and tyre. With Ethiopia: Psalm 21: The king shall joy in thy strength. O Lord: and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

4. WE ARE AT THE CROSS ROADS

There are people who try their best to help their race, although there is dysfunction in society among races and creeds. I believe we are one human family, so I have no problem listing to others tell of their devastation. Zimbabwe was originally called Rhodesia-named after Cecil Rhodes. A man who committed so many crimes against humanity then named the country after himself. Then there was Ian Smith, Who lost the war to Robert Mugabe. After the signing of The Lancaster House Agreement. Which ended in Zimbabwe, Rhodesia following negotiations between representatives of the patriotic front {PF}, consisting of Azpu {Zimbabwe African Peoples Union} and ZanU Zimbabwe National Union} Africa and the Zimbabwe Rhodesia Government. Represented at the time by Bishop Muzorewa and Ian Smith, The Lancaster House Agreement was signed on December 21, 1979. The British assisted in sitting up the Zimbabwe conference on reconstruction and development in 1981.At the conference more than 3630 million of and was pledged. The first phase of land reform in the 1980swhich partially founded by the United Kingdom, Successes fully resettled around 70.000 landless on more than 20.000 kn2of land. Twenty –five years later, when Robert Mugabe took back some of the land to give poor natives- the majority {who still live in the identity area} and Ian Smith on his death left 20.000 Km of land for his family – {see Lancaster Agreement on the web.} Zimbabwe was once called the bread basket of Africa. Because of its land and produce. Now things are similar to South Africa which apologized to the world for their wrong doing during apartheid .but while the injustice continues in their society. The poor people die from. Aids and poverty and others become lawless. History always rears its ugly head. The genocide could have been prevented. Show us some people from any race who are for the true cause and we will work with them! Psalm 72: Verse 1: “Give the king thy Judgment and thy righteousness unto the king son.

5. FROM OUT OF CHRISTIANITY

King Solomon gave the Queen of Sheba and her son menleck. The Ark of the Covenant which they transported from Jerusalem to Ethiopia, The Religion of the Hebrew and the establishment of the Solomonic line of the kings began…Acts 2:29: Men {and} brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us until this day, Acts 2:30: Therefore being prophet. And knowing that God has sworn with an oath to him, that of fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, He would raise. Up Christ to sit on his throne, Malachi1: 14: But cursed {be} the deceiver. Which hath are in his flock a male. And vowed, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for me {am} a great King, saith the Lord of host, {is} dreadful among the heathen. The root of David hath prevailed to open the book, and to lose the seven seal thereof. Psalm 6: 4: sing unto God, sing praises to his name: exalt him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him Isaiah 11: 1: And there shall come forth a rod out of the steam of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of the roots. Jesse was David ‘s father, The prophecy was manifested on November 2.1930, when Haile Selassie I: because the 111 king out of the Solomonic Dynasty and was given the name of Ras Tafri, The power of the Trinity, King of King’s, Lord of Lord’s and would represent us in the world .{Isaiah 43.3:For I {am}the Lord thy God, the Holy one of Israel, thy Savior : I Gave Egypt {for}thy Ransom, Ethiopia and Sheba for thee,

6. I AM GONNA PRAISE JAH AND LIVE

While I was growing up, It was popular belief that God or Jesus Christ {or whatever name he revealed himself in} was coming in the year 2000 to destroy and judge all the wicked and save the righteous who believe in him .It his understood that we all have our own spiritual beliefs. But in 2000 many people’s experience was show, many people because more desperate and began to make economical and career changes in their lives. I put my faith in Jah who is the king. And not in thing’s that is what helps me to remain honorable and strong and keeps me from becoming a corrupt individual. On September 11 2001, the world trade fell. It took the world by surprise and caused countries and Islands that relied on one country {U S A} – when they should have been more sufficient and productive –be with no major help for a while. Inflation was the order of the day. Prices rose drastically for everything: food and rent. ECT: and jobs were lost. We as African people should have learned from that experience, we rely too heavily on the guidance of other races. When will we learn that we have a lot of natural abilities that can make us to higher loves! Agriculture has been in Africa over 28,000 years, Ten thousand {10,000} years ago we came down the River Nile with our civilization. And other people were able to benefit from our teachings. To sail across the ocation, also, to name a few things which started in Egypt: school text, milk producer. Skys craper.ink, .well, Marriage contract. Sound system .game board. Rush ink pen, barber dressings, and barber dressings. Clay cylinder, musical instruments, high painting, wooden mannequins. Marcus Moziah Garvey:”A people without the knowledge of their of their past or history, origin and culture is like a three without root…..Isaiah 3:5: and the people shall be oppressed, everyone by another. And every one by his neighbor: the child shall behave himself against the ancient. And base against the honorable.

7. INSTEAD OF PRAISING JAH

In the 60s and 70s in Jamaica, Some people lands. While other exchanged their lands with the bauxite companies and moved to different parts of the country, during that time. There were about five of six different companies that were mining bauxite in the island. People were given the opportunity to form their lands, raise cattle and grow crops. Like coffee, oranges, grapes, coconuts and bananas. Those who did not own their lands outright, leased. In the early 1970s, airplanes flew over the farms spraying a misty spray on the crops. Rumor had it that they were spraying marijuana crops. However. The farmers did not know that their crops would fail from this general spraying. My parents exchanged their land to the bauxite company and got another two piece of property, where we build a new home and began to grow products: oranges, coffee, plantains, and coconut. At this time, between 1979 and 1980, over 80,000 people left Jamaica because they had become discouraged with the government and farming. In 1984, our coffee at this new location started to produce approximately 8o boxes of coffee berries per week. The agriculture department sends officials to our neighborhood to spray weekly when they determined that bugs were eating our coffee berries. One man said “No” and they took him to court and won because he had no one to support him. Before I left Jamaica, I We lost the farm, which would have been my birthright, {A coffee plant can last over eighty {80} years with good care.} These days, when I visited Jamaica notice that no one wants to do any farming. Everyone just wants a weekly pay check. Unlike us, children today have no chores to perform and instead of raising their own, people steel animals and sell them, what will become will become of these individuals? Some don’t even want to live in small house. Everyone wants and added coloring to it to paint our houses?!Whatever happened to tradition? What are we coming to? Are we going to follow other nations and destroy? The little that remains, and then expect foreigners to come in and teach us how to resolve our problems? As poor as the Ethiopians are, livestock plays a major role in their children’s upbringing Milk and animals are very important to them. Which makes me wonder what will become of us in the Caribbean, if we should totally turn our backs on God and nature. A country cannot rely totally on tourism. People in Africa still live in grass houses and are proud to do so. There was a time when westerns built their houses with lumber and soil and were satisfied until, they could afford to build their houses with cement and blocks! Psalm 35: 24: judge me, o Lord my God, according to thy righteous: and let them not rejoice over me.

8. COME HOME COME

Home There these who mean well; then there are others who take pleasure in misleading others. If we all maintain a presence of mind and are able to confront our problems, we can make a change. The change does not have to be immediate: we just have to trust that it will come eventually. We will be as sisted if we yield to the advice of our elders. We must all come together for the common goal of building our future generations. We must provide them with hope for survival. We must offer encouragement and compassion. We are obligated to speak out and negotiate social justice. If we can, each of us who can afford it should visit Africa – it will be a priceless benefit to our minds. It will certainly encourage us take control of our lives. Double and evil cannot prevail if we keep our selves occupied, our power will increase if take less of the credit when Jah help us! Jeremiah 23: 1: Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! Saith the Lord.

9. GO BEYOND YOUR CLASSISM

Classism has contributed to most of the world’s problems! I have seen documentaries on African countries that portray the worse conditions, under which people live, Imagine seen grandmothers. Who need care themselves, taking care of their grandchildren! These Grandchildren are seen searching the garbage for food to feed them. When questioned on the whereabouts of the children’s parents, they say they died from AIDS. I am ashamed when I see this! Then there are people with millions and billions of dollars who don’t seems to care. Even Central America. Brazil, Malawi, Cambodia, Haiti and other places, there are children who don’t know what a bed look like. I have seen interviews on West Africa – where forty percent {40%} of the world’s chocolate comes from-where child are hurt carrying heavy loads and cannot attend schools. Parents are underplayed while companies get richer. Shame on these companies who keep the benefit for themselves! Don’t they have a conscience?! Isaiah3:5: And the people shall be oppressed, everyone by another, and every one by his neighbor: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honorable.

10. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE DISCIPLINED

It seems as if society today wants to take over the rights of parents to guide their children. Some parents are forced to ask, “Are we losing the right to our children? Bill Cosdy has said that parents should take account of their children’s actions. We also need more concerned fathers who will speak on behalf of children, instead of criticizing Mr. Cosby’s statement. I have seen communities of young who seem to be frustrated by the lack of attention given to them. They join gangs, walk around with their parts down-a style which many people claim is a jail style, Which it is not, but just a trend of weakness, which stops them possible being employed and everyone has a tattoo and piercing all over his/her body. Everyone walks around basically with low self esteem. Even graffiti has become a part of their self –expression! There are some among us how have fed into the lie that if it were not for slavery, we would be suffering in Africa. Do not fool yourself! We are not necessarily in the privileged Western! We own no land and without land we have no real freedom! Noting today is new. Tolerance, discipline, and respect were taught in Timbuktu and Alexandra {Egypt} and most of what we are enjoying today are adaptations from our ancestor, Children today need to know that they inborn talent, they just have to exhibit one and perfect it. There it so much information available in libraries and on computers- enough to break down or build up a nation! The very right I completed my album, I dreamt that my house was filled with some of my ancestors. They were all women and they knew I was doing something good. Exodus 18: 19: hearken now unto my voice. I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee. Be thou for the people to God ward, that thou Mayes bring the causes unto God.

11. PUT YOUR PASSION IN THE MUSIC

Psalm 87 verse 7: As well as singers as the players of instrument shall be there: all my spring are in thee. This makes me wonder if these miserable. Selfish. And bad-minded indivuals as well as unconventional singers are going to meet Jah too, IS that fear? Why won’t most of us try to live the word of god instead of singing, preaching and talking action, people need good angelic people around them! Do those who read this and other psalms believe that they will be saved! I use my songs and music to embrace my doctrine. Even if I don’t become rich are famous from my musical contributions. I gave thanks that I have touched somebody’s lives in a positive way. Some have tried to block my efforts and I regret that they have been so simple minded. There is no great regret if there is no great love! No one can stop jah works, Jah works always remain firm! To me, the music business is one of the most untamed businesses when there is no honor between people. For instance. The whole business in terms of bootlegging.dun by people which is caused by inconsiderate manufactures makes it easier for pirates to undermine the industry in every possible way. People even think it’s so cool to shear the music of artist with their friends over the internet. Sometimes it really offends me when on the behalf of humanity. I would make the sacrifice to invest between $12.000 and $13.000on a project and my efforts are still taken for granted. Sometimes what really console me in life is when I observe God and nature and how things are designed. There is a special of fig which does not bloom but still there are seeds and the only way the seeds can germinate, they have to be eaten and pass through the stomach of birds, which tells whatever Jah wants be will be. Deuteronomy 27 19: cursed be he that prevent the judgment of the stranger, Fatherless. And widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.

12. IT HURTS SO BAD {LUCKY DUBE}

I recently bought three {3} Lucky Dube CDS and was very impressed. I had been previously impressed with Alpha Blonde’s work. The only difference between the two African singers is that I am better able to understand Lucky Dube’s lyrics because most of his lyrics were in English. On one occasion I wrote to Dube’s fan club and sent him some of my CD’s but I received no response. I identify with Dube’s music because he sang for social justice. I was blessed to see him perform once, July 13, 2007, at SOB's night club in lower Manhattan, while his loyal fans were inside. I was outside the club selling my CD, Tribute to Ethiopia- Spiritual Standard. Hoped to share the stage with him some day, imagine my surprise, then. when I heard of his sudden. Violent death. He was killed on approximately the 10th anniversary of Peter Tosh’s own violent death. Peter was killed in Jamaica on October 20. 1987. Dube was killed in South Africa on October 18.2007, both were 43 years old. I recently learned that the man, who killed you, didn’t like you Prophet. It hurts! It hurts so bad! Men are so much are much egotistic and foolish than women. A woman can make better decisions. Women may be at times spiteful. They are more grateful and appreciative I have never heard of a gang of women roving around and murdering important man. May your soul rest in peace, my brother. Ezekiel29:3:Speak.and say, thus saith the Lord God: Behold I am against thee. Pharaoh King of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers. Which hath said, My River is mine own, and I have made it for myself.

13. RASTAFARI SAYS

As a young child, I remember my classmates and me staring at a rastaman as he passed by the schoolyard. In those days, too, it was rumored that the “black heart man “ was giving candy to children, taking them away with him, and carving out their heart. Incidentally, it seems that those rumors alluded to the Rasta’s because of their Areocentric beliefs. Unknown to me. That Rasta man that passed my school touched my life in a very special way! Haile Selassie I came to Jamaica that same year, in 1966, today. I am embracing the same faith, Although I was raised and baptized in the Baptist church, As I grew up, I embraced both spiritual beliefs, In the mid 1970s, when it was said Haile Selassie I was dead, he revealed himself to me in a vision. I was no longer fearful and was given a “new lease” On life, Al though I had started to grow my locks. I did not fully praise Jah until I had that vision! Truly give thanks that I can contribute to Rastafari humanitarian concepts in the world view. Job 28; 1: There is a path which a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture’s eye not seen.

14. IT’S A PLEASURE

I often consider gender issues men and women. A woman’s brain can be compared to that of an elephant. Women have many positive things going for them when compared to men. Men will build an organization then destroy it just because his ego demands it. He will build a house and destroy it. Without a thought, hurting his family. Women usually go astray due to a man’s influence. I would not pray to a female God. But most men are selfish people! Some of us need to explore more options before doing regrettable things to hurt ourselves and others, from what life has taught me, there is more failure in most of our lives than success and when we fail to do the right thing. It causes us more failure. Proverb 14: 1: Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands. WE ARE AT THR CROSS ROADS -12 DESIPLES WITH JAH – BY M.F.
